Damian McCleod is a NY state licensed acupuncturist and has a Masters of Science Degree in Acupuncture from Pacific College of Health and Science (PCOM). Damian’s introduction to the actual practice of acupuncture came after having undergone his second knee surgery. At the suggestion of his fellow graduate of Pacific College, he started receiving acupuncture treatments at the college’s clinic. After having first hand proof of the power of acupuncture, he dedicated himself to the pursuit of Chinese Medicine by enrolling as a student in 2010 and graduating in 2015.
A major influence in his studies came from the martial arts community. Damian has been training in various martial arts such as: jiu jitsu, muay thai and capoeira, for 32 years. Damian currently works with martial artist and other athletes, with a focus on treating musculoskeletal disorders.
To further his understanding of the body, he regular takes continuing education courses, such as: dry needling, motor point treatment and sports acupuncture. In November 2023 he completed his certification in Neuro-Meridian Integrative Acupuncture, under the direction of Dr. Poney Chiang, PhD, R.Ac. R.TCM.
In his spare time he enjoys sketching, cycling and coffee, not necessarily in that order.
